The Taft University System Learning Management Platform is governed by the following rules:

  1. Access to the Platform is granted only to current students, the faculty, and administration of the Taft University System.
  2. In all communications participants will adhere to the principles of Academic Integrity and mutual respect. In the context of the platform, the spirit of these principles will be embodied in the following specifics:
    1. Participants will be polite and refrain from the use of abusive language at all times.
    2. Participants will use appropriate language and abstain from any vulgarity or any other inappropriate language.
    3. Participants will abstain from using inappropriate or copyrighted images, videos, or other material in their profile or forum posts.
    4. Participants will demonstrate respect for other participants ideas and beliefs.
    5. Participants will not provide or accept improper academic assistance.
    6. Participants will abstain from harassing behavior as outlined in the student handbook.
    7. Participants will diligently guard the security and privacy of the Learning Portal and of all participants by taking care not to reveal their access codes to any other person.
    8. Participants will NEVER discuss the content of any midterm or final exam question.
  3. Posts in the Forum modules must be germane to the subject matter of the Course. Administrative and personal issues, including those regarding a particular course, should be communicated via e-mail to the Director of Student Affairs. Any post with no discernible relevance to the subject matter of the Forum thread to which it is posted may be deleted at the discretion of the moderator. The poster also may be asked to re-direct their comment to a more appropriate venue.
  4. Replies to an existing thread in a Discussion Forum should concern the same topic.
  5. The server logs all user activity. Taft University System reserves the right to remove any content found to be in violation of the letter or intent of this policy. The author of such content may also be subject to sanctions up to and including academic dismissal.
